This version of Flavia is a dominant figure who subjects Jenny to various forms of servitude and humiliation. Amidst the unfolding drama, political intrigue continues as factions vie for the throne of Ruritania. As the story progresses, Jenny is captured and imprisoned in Zenda Castle by Duke Michael and his lieutenant, Rupert of Hentzau. During her confinement, she faces numerous trials, including physical punishment and public humiliation, alongside a companion.

The narrative explores themes of power dynamics, resilience, and the struggle against oppression. The outcome hinges on whether Jenny can leverage her circumstances and adaptability to survive the challenges posed by her captors, while preventing Duke Michael from seizing control and extinguishing the romantic ideals of Ruritania.
