In "Body Swap 2: A Mother's Love," Emily Willis and Ember Snow wake up in each other's bodies and decide to meet at the library to research their predicament. They hope to find information on similar occurrences or a solution to their body swap. After hours of searching without success, librarian Lauren Phillips checks on them and inadvertently leaves behind a spellcraft book.

Upon discovering the book, the girls realize they have been cursed and find a riddle that offers a way to reverse the spell. The riddle states that a true love's kiss and a selfless act are necessary to break the curse. As they ponder the riddle, Emily (in Ember's body) reveals her recent encounter with her step-sister, leading to a heated argument between the two. After Emily storms off, Ember formulates a plan to perform the selfless act mentioned in the riddle by seeking a true love's kiss for Emily. She decides to visit Emily’s stepmom, Dana DeArmond, believing that her affection for Emily will help break the spell. After some persuasion, Ember successfully kisses Dana, but soon realizes that Emily's life may not be as ideal as she initially perceived.
