GER used for video as it has the best PQ and retains the OAR of 2.35:1. AUS and CAN come from the same master and are Open Matte. AUS had a superior transfer to CAN, but still looked much worse than GER.
USA/CAN Vivendi Entertainment discs did have slightly better video than GER, however they are mis-labeled on the blu-ray boxes as the Unrated cut, but are in fact the theatrical cut so they could not be used.

CAN used for audio because it had the best PQ and was true 24-bit. AUS audio technically preserved better transients and had superior dynamics to CAN, but was lower fidelity due to being 16-bit and had the most egregious clipping I've ever seen from a retail BD on the center channel with audible distortion throughout the entire film. GER was a lossy DD transfer that was worse than CAN.

AUS used for commentary since it had a better transfer than CAN.
