I generally abhor porn films that rely on narration -usually a critical factor dictated by budget. But THE PSYCHIATRIST is an exception, a porn film where the narration is top-notch and makes the movie a winner.

With anonymity ruling here, one "e;Fonda Peters"e; stars as Barbara Parker, a woman who goes to the title shrink to pour out her life story. Under hypnosis, she narrates the purple prose with a little-girl voice that is quite arousing, matched to the romantic background score and "e;tastefully"e; (in context) XXX porn footage that illustrates her tale.

It begins with a creepy old guy in a car trying to pick her up when she was a young girl, and exposing himself. She next sees the black handyman/student living with her family making love to his black girl friend. (Their acting names are Dick Long and Betty Bush -har, har.) This incident causes Barbara to become extremely horny, cueing some terrific softcore footage of her masturbating in the shower and elsewhere. Her actual sexual initiation comes with a boy named Jimmy, not very well-hung, but soon she's getting it on (as expected) with Dick Long for some mixed-combo action.

All the while the shrink is suggestively stroking or sucking on his fountain pen while listening, pretty Freudian if you ask me. He also has great trouble spitting out his dialog and should have been replaced.

After the hypnosis is over, when the quack starts to feel Barbara up and whips out his cock she quickly heads for the hills. Left horny, he gets serviced by porn favorite stalwart Sandy Carey, cast as his nurse/receptionist. Inexplicably, while Sandy is getting it on (hypnotized) we watch psychedelic light show effects and listen to Miles Davis jazz/rock fusion music before the inevitable "e;In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"e; starts blaring.

The synopsis doesn't sound very exciting, because the material isn't, but listening to Barbara innocently narrate her experiences, and watching her very attractive performance is quite arousing. The filmmakers were ashamed of this product (even Sandy Carey gets a pseudonym), but needn't have been, since with a bit more effort they could have yielded a classic."e;

A Note About Duplicates: With vintage films, there will often be another version of what I'm uploading already available on emp. I will always compare my upload against all versions currently available on emp. I will only take the time to upload it if it is either:

-- substantially better quality than what's already available, or

-- a substantially better encode (quality per bitrate), than those already available. Usually this will be an x265 encode of an original DVD or BluRay. I will not re-encode a good-quality x264 or XviD DVDRip just to make an x265 version.

-- I strive to make my original DVD encodes (which will be noted in the description) look as close to the source as possible. I will generally use x265 (slow preset) at CRF 17-19 for SD content and CRF 23 for HD content. I will detelecine film back to 24 FPS when required for film that has been telecined to run at 29.97 FPS. If required, I de-interlace with EDDI2.
