One could easily argue that the founding of the United States of America, by differing portions of the world's persecuted, was a foreshadowing for the world soon to come. Today's world is one in which high-speed telecommunications and increased volumes of global business have effectively served to make our planet a distinctively smaller place. In most circumstances, the often-visible boundary lines between nation-states has blurred almost as quickly as the distinction between currencies such as the dollar and the euro.
