Any Boy Can, 87 min

A young writer - who had been cheating on his lover stationed in Vietnam - grieves over his killed-in-action lost love in Jaguar's pre-condom Any Boy Can. Eventually, of course, he finds himself renewed through the power of gay sex with a close friend. The story unfolds at a Malibu beach house - sometimes at snail's pace. The bodies are not gym-built like today, and there's some shag carpeting and set design that'll soften your cock but at least provide a good laugh. But the sex that is here is often ball-churning good (great lighting when it comes to cock-in-ass insertions), the acting more than passable. In addition there's some old-school boozing, Barry Knight's camerawork is spot-on, and the remastering is quite good. It's 40 years old and not Citizen Kane, so give it some slack, ok? (That odd new cover though? Ick.) Sentimental and dated but still surprisingly quite-sexy, make sure to watch the extended preview trailer - it's a fucking riot.
