Lou Cass stars as Billy, a young man who leaves his wife for a journey of sexual self-discovery in Las Vegas.
By the end of his adventures, Billy has evolved from miserably straight to contentedly queer. Cass won a 1989
Best Performer award from the Advocate Men critic for this role, and the film as a whole was very well
received. "Unzips the mind as well as the fly. A film for both the heart and the hard on." - Manshots
Billy's many adventures include bisexual and gay encounters, as well as a flashback to a college affair
with a husky Brazilian buddy played by porn veteran Vladimir Correa.
From his cheap motel room Billy expresses regret for his past attempts to assimilate and resolves to
explore the Vegas sex scene. Out by the pool, he meets Gino Colbert and Ruby Jean Baker. The three rub each
other with suntan lotion and then head to the couple's room for a drink. A bisexual threeway ensues, but the
real heat is generated primarily by Gino and Lou.
Later, after pouring his heart out to the desk clerk (real-life lover Alex Forrest) at dinner, Lou heads
to the casinos. He is picked up by Fred, who takes him on a motorcycle trip to the desert. The two screw
under the hot sun in an expanse of desert sand. The next day, Lou is invited by a noted Vegas daddy to a
yacht "party" which turns out to be a photo shoot/orgy.
The film wraps up with Billy visiting the Hoover Dam, where he meets redhead Rusty Thomas who asks him out
on his "first date." It isn't revealed by the end whether Billy will find true love with Rusty or someone
else, but clearly he's on his way to a positive new start in life.
Sporting an unusually large cast of 26, Sexy Billy Blue is an ambitious production that delivers on both
the romantic and arousal levels. Director Toby Ross crafted a film for the period - crammed full of hot sex,
naturally, but also reflective of positive gay cultural values.
